5th August 2002
The team finish their 13,000km ride from London in Johannesburg.

20th May 2002
Ruth, Owy, Toby and Paul arrive in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, having cycled 8500km from London.

5th April 2002
The team are on schedule, and have reached Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where they visited the first of the WaterAid projects on their route.

18th December 2001
Cycle to the Summit expedition suffers a major setback as two bikes stolen in Milan, Italy in broad daylight from outside the main city police station.

6 November 2001
Leaving date for Cycle to the Summit expedition to South Africa is set for 26th November 2001, Trafalgar Square, London.

28th September 2001
Cycle to the Summit receives the personal support of UNEP's Director and Regional Representative for Europe, Frits Schlingemann, and discussion for further collaboration with UNEP is ongoing.

Ruth Hollinger, Toby Hammond, Paul Bradbury and Frank Hindle announce their intention to cycle from London to the UN Earth Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa in support of WaterAid.
