Earth Summit in Jo'burg, S. Africa
Photo Index
These
are some of our favourite photos from the journey so far. They have been
taken using our Sony Mini DV camera, (see sponsors
page). Click below to view each gallery. We'll add more as we go...
These are some of
the bird, beasts and pretty plants we've seen alongside the road
so far. We're hoping to be able to add a few lions and giraffes
in the near future, so watch this space...
From
Sudan we crossed into Ethiopia, had a celebratory beer at the border,
then got on with the job of climbing some seriously high mountains
on some seriously bad road. See the story in pictures here. To read
more about this part of the trip, read our travelogue.
From
Israel we crossed into Egypt via the Sinai desert, and headed for
Cairo. We then headed South along the Nile valley to Aswan, where
we caught a boat across Lake Nasser into Sudan. From Wadi Halfa
(Northern Sudan), we spent a spectacular, but diffucult two weeks
reaching Khartoum, (the capital). To read more about this part of
the trip, read our travelogue.
From
London we crossed the channel and cycled down through a wet and
rainy France, crossing the Alps in Switerland, and passing through
Italy and Greece before taking a boat to Israel, from where we entered
Africa. To read more about this part of the trip, read our travelogue.
These
are a few photos from our leaving day, on 26th November 2001 from
Trafalgar Square, London. To read more about this part of the trip,
